» Assistant Professor of Thermal and Hydraulic Machines at Politecnico di Milano since 1968
» Visiting Professor in Aeronautics Dept. of Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, 1969-1970.
» Full Professor of Special Power Plants (chair new name since 1990: Energy Conversion) at Politecnico di Milano since 1980.
» Consultant of several Italian and international Industries in the field of turbomachinery, heat transfer and energy conversion, renewable energy sources, heat recovery, cogeneration, gas turbines and combined cycles.
» Scientific coordinator of several research programs, sponsored by E.E.C, C.N.R., E.N.E.A.,Italian Ministry of Education, on power conversion, energy saving, heat recovery, combined cycles, geothermal and solar energy, Carbon Capture and Sequestration, etc.

» Member of Managing Committee of the Italian Association of Professors of Machines and Energy Sysems (about 200 professors) since 1980 and Chairman of the Committee (1998-2002)
» President of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Politecnico di Milano in Piacenza since 2003
