Formazione:

- 1990: Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano
- 1994: PhD in Energetics presenting a final thesis concerning the analysis of the turbulent mixing process in the wake generated by turbine blades

Principali mansioni in ambito accademico ed esperienze lavorative:

- Awarded in 1994 with a 2 years post-doc fellowship for research activity on turbomachinery fluidynaimcs
- 1996-2003 Assistant Professor at the Politecnico di Milano
- current position from 2003: Associate Professor in "Fluid Machines" , holding the course of “Turbomachines and Energetic Plants”.
- Scientific consultant, leader and/or participant to researches financed by several private and public companies in the fields of turbomachines and safety valves.

Competenze e campi di ricerca:

- experimental aerodynamics specialist
- application of several measurement techniques (pressure probes, optical tecniques, hot wire, etc.) for the evaluation of steady and unsteady flow fields in turbomachines: gas and steam turbines, fan and compressors, wind generators, hydraulic machines.
- development of conventional and new-concept probes for aerodynamic measurements
- analisys of the operational and functional behaviour of safety relief valves size ranges.

Cariche ricoperte:

- In Charge of Laboratorio di Fluidodinamica delle Macchine
- Head of the safety valves test laboratory.
- President of the Italian delegation at ISO-TC 185: safety devices for the protection against excessive pressure
- Chairman of the ISO-WG in charge for the definition of ISO 4126-11: laboratory tests required for safety valves product certification.
