Modelling and Techno-Economic Assessment of CO2 from NGCC flue gas via chemical absorption with green solvents
The thesis consists in modelling work on CO2 Capture (CCS) processes for state-of-the-art NGCC power plants, with particular focus on green solvent absorption.
Tasks to be accomplished:
1. Understanding of the solvent- CO2 chemical reaction mechanism
2. Identification of a suitable equation of state for thermodynamic modelling
3. Process simulation on Aspen Plus, energy performance evaluation, equipment sizing and pricing, definition of a dedicated techno-economic assessment
