Il Politecnico di Milano sul podio della Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
Ottimo debutto del Team Physis PEB in gara col catamarano IONE
Ottimo risultato per Physis PEB, il Team del Politecnico di Milano che lo scorso week end ha partecipato per la prima volta alla Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, l’evento unico al mondo dedicato all’innovazione e alla sostenibilità della nautica.
Gli oltre 70 studenti di tutti i Corsi di Laurea dell’Ateneo, capitanati da un gruppo di docenti del Dipartimento di Energia e del Dipartimento di Meccanica, si sono infatti aggiudicati il terzo posto.
Il Team ha impressionato la Giuria ed è stato anche premiato con l'Ecodesign Price con un contributo di € 3.000 dagli sponsor del concorso.
Le gare sono iniziate giovedì 7 luglio con la Qualifying Race, in cui il Team Polimi ha ottenuto la migliore prestazione, battendo di 1 secondo anche i vincitori dello scorso anno.
A seguire la Endurance Race che è stata molto dura per il team @Physis PEB, poiché alcuni problemi tecnici hanno permesso al team di competere solo per 1 ora su 3 ore totali. Il risultato è stato un 9° posto su 13, con una buona prestazione durante la gara.
Sabato è stata l'ultima giornata, durante la quale si sono svolte due gare. La prima, una gara di Slalom, si è conclusa in seconda posizione con 3 secondi di ritardo rispetto ai vincitori. La seconda, la Championship Race, ha visto la barca @Physis PEB vincere i quarti di finale e la semifinale mentre la finale, sebbene molto combattuta, non si è conclusa a favore del Team.

Politecnico di Milano on the podium of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
Great debut of Physis PEB with the IONE catamaran
Excellent result for Physis PEB, the team of Politecnico di Milano, that last weekend joined for the first time ever the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, the only event in the world dedicated to boating innovation and sustainability.
The over 70 students currently enrolled in different Programmes at Politecnico di Milano, led by a group of professors from the Department of Energy and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, ranked third.
The Races started on Thursday the 7th of July with the Qualifying Race, where the Polimi team got the best performance, beating also last-year winners by 1 second.
The Endurance Race was very tough for @Physis PEB team due to some technical problems, which forced the team to compete only for 1 hour out of 3 total hours. The result was the 9th position out of 13 participants, with a good performance during the race.
Saturday was the last day, with two races. The team won the silver medal in the Slalom Race, with only 3 seconds delay from the winners. The Championship Race saw the @Physis PEB boat win the quarter-final and the semifinal and a strong fight in the final that was not in his favour.
