The Specializing Masters (1st and 2nd level) offered by the Department of Energy allow to boost one’s professional and personal development. The Department of Energy non-institutional training activities and special didactic projects comply with UNI EN ISO 9001-2015.
Specializing Master RIDEF 2.0 – Reinventing Energy
RIDEF 2.0 is the Specializing Master organized by the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano focusing on energy, environmental and climate protection. Its main objective is the training and education of those who want to work in the field of sustainability, renewable sources, and energy efficiency.
The Specializing Master started in 2003 foreseeing the changes which would occur in the energy sector.
Today RIDEF 2.0 is at its 17th edition for the 2nd level and 4th edition for the 1st level. It is completely renewed in its structure as in its contents. As in the past, RIDEF 2.0 is set to be cutting-edge for the professional training of those who want to embark on the path towards ecological and social transition.
Lectures are held in English. The new edition of the Specializing Master will start in February 2022

Specializing Master in Nuclear Safeguards
The 1st level Specializing Master in Nuclear Safeguards is organized by the Department of Energy and by ENEN, in collaboration with the European Joint Research Centre and with academic institutions operating in the nuclear field. The Specializing Master is part of the SATE (European Safeguards Training and Education) project.
The Specializing Master enables the training and development of the employees’ competences in order to enhance the efficiency of their actions in the field of nuclear safeguards and support the ongoing development of a professional, competent and motivated workforce. Lectures are held in English.
The 1st edition started in October 2021 and it will end in October 2022.

Specializing Master in Sustainable Management of Resources and Cultural Heritage for Local Development: Empowering Higher Education in Africa
The 1st level Specializing Master is organized by the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, by Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, by Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, by Università degli Studi di Padova, by Università La Sapienza di Roma and by Università degli Studi di Firenze. The Specializing Master is organized by the IHEA Foundation – Italian Higher Education with Africa and with the support of the Ministry of University and Research.
The mission of this Specializing Master course is to support African Universities by contributing to upgrading their staff and nurturing a qualified generation of skilled young researchers and lecturers. The Specializing Master will also boost science diplomacy by enforcing a long term peer-to peer partnership between African and Italian Universities. The lectures are held in English. The 1st edition will start in 2022.

SPECIALIZING MASTER CORPORATE
Specializing Master in Energy Innovation
The 2nd level Specializing Master, at its 3rd edition, is organized by the Department of Energy in collaboration with Eni. It aims at training professionals with a transversal vision on the traditional areas of the Oil&Gas business. The objective of the Specializing Master is to train professionals with multidisciplinary education, integrated and synergistic areas of expertise (renewable energies, green chemistry, biomass, biorefineries, big data, digitalisation, energy storage, etc.). The students will also have the opportunity to improve their soft-skills as well as their technical-scientific skills. The training programme takes a learning-by-doing approach and includes a period of classroom based lessons at Politecnico di Milano (in accordance with the rules concerning pandemic situation), and an internship with Eni and its Companies. The lectures are held in English. The 3rd edition will start in March 2022.

Specializing Master in Strategic and Innovative O&M Management
The 1st level Specializing Master at its 4th edition is organized by the Department of Energy in collaboration with Enel Thermal Generation for internal training needs.
The purpose of Operation & Maintenance activities is to maximize and to track the performance of power plants in the Enel world in order to guarantee and improve O&M processes and to ensure an optimization of maintenance plans. The O&M lines of the two divisions aim to continue the application program of the hard, soft and digital skills of its staff. The solution is a transversal training path, aimed at a specific target, at training key figures ready to take on global roles both in the GRE and GTX divisions.The Department of Energy organizes the Specializing Master following the commission by ENEL. It has a customized programme. Lectures are held in English. The 4th edition will start in March 2022.

Specializing Master in Smart Grids
The Smart Grids Second Level Specializing Master, organized by the Department of Energy in collaboration with Enel Group, aims to deepen the study of the evolution of electricity systems needed to enable a significant development of generators from Renewable Energy.
The Specializing Master, which aims to develop resources with multidisciplinary education, focuses on assessing the impact of renewable sources on the electricity system at the network level and at the market level.
Lectures will introduce innovative technological solutions and present case studies on solutions implemented on the public distribution network and innovations under development in national and European research projects.
Participants, selected on the basis of Enel Group’s recruitment needs, will be offered an Higher Education and Research Apprenticeship Contract for the entire duration of the Master.
The Specializing Master is for young talents that will be hired by Enel Group with a Higher Education and Research Apprenticeship Contract for the entire duration of the Specializing Master. The 1st edition started in April 2021 and it will end in April 2022.
