Risk Analysis of Integrated Energy and Telecommunication (TLC) Infrastructures

Modern infrastructures are becoming highly connected in several industrial fields: since they have not been designed for this, the incoming opportunities are coupled with unexpected vulnerabilities. In particular, energy and TLC networks have been extensively investigated in the recent past and their interdependence is becoming tighter and, therefore, more critical.
The objective of this thesis is to investigate the state-of-the-art architectures of both energy and TLC networks, aiming at identifying the risks associated to their integration, focusing especially on those coming from their interdependence.
The ultimate goal of this thesis is to assess the specific risk related to the identified vulnerabilities and propose possible mitigation solutions.

Objective of the research. Risk analysis and assessment method investigation and development. Investigation of energy and TLC network architectures and of their state-of-the art policy protocols. Application of the Risk analysis and assessment methodology for the identification of the integrated network vulnerabilities due to both the physical infrastructure and the associated policy.

Durata (duration): 5-7 mesi (5-7 months)
