Nuclear Measures Laboratory

The laboratory of Nuclear Measurements is devoted to the study, the application and the development of methods and techniques for measuring radiation fields of different nature and properties. Research activities, funded mainly through national and international research projects, concern spectrometry, dosimetry and microdosimetry of complex fields of neutrons, photons and charged particles, together with the nuclear signals analysis and development of innovative detection systems for radiation protection and medical applications. The laboratory hosts an experimental facility for thermal and fast neutron irradiations of detectors and dosimeters. Moreover, it offers a service to external users for the characterization of radioactive samples of small (in-lab) or large (in-situ) dimensions.
