SolarTechLab

Established in 2011, SolarTechLAB is located on the roof of the Department of Energy in Politecnico di Milano - Bovisa Campus. Its aims at the development of electrical and thermal power generation systems based on solar energy.
Solar Tech Lab's mission can be summarized in two objectives:

  • Improvements of commercial technologies and development of innovative prototypes for power and heat generation to be optimized and integrated to with the conventional energy sources.
  • Development of forecasting models and storage systems to improve the integration of solar technologies with traditional fossil fuel based systems.

SolarTechLAB provides qualified scientific research, technical consulting and testing services in the field of photovoltaic, photovoltaic-thermal and concentration systems as well as solar assisted heat pumps (SAHP).
