The Director at the “Incontri Romani” of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia: focus on research and European cooperation

On April 15, the Director, Prof. Matteo Maestri, took part in the “Incontri Romani” hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Rome, in collaboration with Hon. Tatjana Rojc, Senator of the Italian Republic, at the Europe Experience “David Sassoli” Centre.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the role of scientific research within the European Union, with a particular focus on EU funding instruments and collaboration opportunities between Slovenia and Italy.
The exchange between the scientific communities of the two countries — also enriched by the participation of Blaž Likozar (National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana), who is involved together with Prof. Maestri in the European project ReaxPro (H2020) — clearly highlighted the central role of international cooperation in addressing shared challenges and strengthening an increasingly integrated European research ecosystem.
In this context, Prof. Maestri emphasized both the strategic importance of research in the energy sector and the crucial role of European funding as a key lever to support innovation and foster international scientific collaboration.
Special thanks to the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia, represented by Boris Antolič, M.Sc., Chargé d’Affaires a.i., for the invitation and for promoting such a high-level exchange.
