Eros Mossini Invited Speaker at the 3rd International Workshop on Radioanalysis and Radioecology in China
The Department of Energy researcher contributed to the international exchange on the latest advances in radiochemistry and radioactive waste management during his participation at Lanzhou University.
From 6 to 10 July 2026, Eros Mossini, a researcher in the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano, participated as an invited speaker in the Summer School & 3rd International Workshop on Radioanalysis and Radioecology, hosted by Lanzhou University (China) and organized by the School of Nuclear Science and Technology under the leadership of Professor Xiaolin Hou. The initiative took place as part of the Chinese university’s International Course and Practice Week and brought together experts, researchers, and early-career scientists from leading international institutions.
The workshop provided an important forum for discussion on radiochemistry, radioecology, and nuclear safety, with dedicated sessions also addressing radioactive waste management, chemistry in nuclear engineering, and radioisotope production. The programme combined advanced lectures, scientific seminars, and discussion sessions involving senior researchers and young scientists, fostering the development of new international collaborations.
During the workshop, Eros Mossini delivered four lectures focusing on the state of the art, the main scientific challenges, and the latest developments in the field of radiochemistry applied to radioactive waste management for the sustainable development of nuclear technologies. He shared research methodologies and perspectives with an international audience of students and researchers from, among others, the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), the University of Barcelona, the University of Southampton, and Linköping University.
