A fifth-year high school class visiting the NanoLab laboratories of the Department of Energy
On February 12, the Department of Energy welcomed a final-year class from the “Badoni” Higher Education Institute in Lecco for an orientation visit aimed at introducing students to the Department’s research activities and post-secondary educational opportunities.
The visit took place at the NanoLab laboratories (Micro- and Nanostructured Materials), where students from the Applied Sciences Scientific High School program had the opportunity to learn more about the Department of Energy’s main research areas. NanoLab staff welcomed the group and presented the laboratory’s scientific activities, highlighting the role of research on nanomaterials.
During the visit, students were able to observe some of the equipment used in experimental activities and engage in discussions with professors, researchers, and PhD students, gaining further insight into possible university and career paths related to engineering and scientific research.
The initiative is part of the orientation activities promoted by the Department of Energy, with the aim of bringing high school students closer to the world of academic research and providing useful tools to support informed decisions about their future course of study after high school.
