Multi-year microgrid optimization in developing countries: the selection of representative days
The optimization of rural microgrid sizing is computationally intensive, especially in case of multi-year algorithms accounting for the evolution of the system (battery degradation, load growth). Hence, representative days (RD) are often used to reduce the timeframe under study but current methods are not able to capture the variability of load and renewable generation while keeping track of the evolution of the system. The aim of the thesis is to investigate a RD selection method that allows to maintain the chronological order and so to analyse the multi-year characteristics of the microgrid.
