During the ASME Turbo Expo 2023 conference held in Boston, researchers from the Department  of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, Paolo Gaetani and Andrea Notaristefano, together with three colleagues from the University of Florence (Roberto Pacciani, Michele Marconcini and Lorenzo Pinelli), have been awarded the prestigious Best Paper Award by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for their outstanding contribution to the field of gas turbines and the high quality of their scientific paper entitled “The Effects of Swirling Flows in Entropy Wave Convection Through High Pressure Turbine Stages”.

Paolo Gaetani, Full Professor in the Department of Energy, said:
