Filippo Bovera awarded for innovation in energy management
Filippo Bovera, Researcher at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, received the Energy Management 2024 Award during the Fire Enermanagement conference, held on 21 November 2024 in Milan. This award recognises commitment and innovation in the field of energy management.
The award-winning project focuses on the MINDFlex trial, an initiative that saw the installation of the first PGUI (Power Grid User Interface) device in building 26 in via Golgi at Politecnico di Milano, provided by Unareti. The aim is to improve the flexibility of the electricity distribution grid through advanced algorithms for forecasting and automatic control, contributing to the energy transition. The research foresees further developments in 2025, exploiting the advanced technologies of the PoliGrid in Città Studi.
This award is not just a personal acknowledgement, but a tribute to the teamwork and strategic vision that the Politecnico di Milano is pursuing for the energy transition. The flexibility of the grids and the integration of renewable energy sources are the key challenges for ensuring a sustainable energy future,
commented Filippo Bovera.
In addition to a commemorative plaque, the award includes tools and resources for consumption monitoring and energy simulation, confirming the importance of technological innovation in the field of energy management.
