GraphiCore recognised among emerging startups and for innovation in nuclear energy
Startup GraphiCore, the brainchild of a research project of the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano, recently won important international recognition.
During the Hello Tomorrow 2025 event, among more than 4600 participating startups, GraphiCore was selected as one of the finalists in the “Emerging Deeptech Pioneers” category, an initiative that enhances early-stage startups with strong scientific or business potential. This recognition highlights GraphiCore’s ability to innovate in the field of radioactive waste decommissioning and management with safe and cost-effective solutions.
In addition to this selection, GraphiCore received a grant of 20.000 euros from the Euratom Fund in recognition of nuclear innovation of the year. The award was given for its commitment to technological advancement and nuclear safety, key areas for the Department of Energy as well.
GraphiCore’s path to success is rooted in the research conducted at our Department: the doctoral thesis that led to the creation of the startup recently won the Nuclear Italian Ph.D. Award, further consolidating the prestige of the research developed at Politecnico di Milano.
"We see these awards as an important confirmation of the value of applied research and technological innovation in the nuclear industry. We are proud to contribute, through GraphiCore, to safer and more efficient solutions for decommissioning nuclear facilities."
