SRESA Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof. Zio

Recognised his contributions in the area of risk assessment of engineering systems

Prof. Enrico Zio, lecturer of the ‘Reliability Engineering and Quantitative Risk Analysis A+B’, ‘Resilience and Security of Critical Infrastructures’ and ‘Safety in Mobility’ courses at the Department of Energy, was awarded the Society for Reliability and Safety (SRESA) Lifetime Achievement Award for his important contributions in the field of risk assessment and reliability of engineering systems.

The award is conferred every five years and this year was presented during the fifth International Conference on Reliability, Safety and Hazard (ICRESH), held at the DAE Convention Centre in Anushaktinagar, Mumbai.

Prof. Zio was recognised for his pioneering role in the application of Artificial Intelligence and Genetic Algorithms to support risk assessment and resilience of complex engineering systems. His efforts and innovations have had a significant impact in the industry, opening up new perspectives and advancements in the field of security.
