Two PhD students from the Department of Energy receive awards at the Italian PhD Nuclear Talent Award 2025
Riccardo Chebac and Giovanni Zullo, PhD researchers at the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano, are among the winners of the Italian PhD Nuclear Talent Award 2025, a competition that rewards the best doctoral theses in the nuclear field.
Riccardo Chebac took first place with his thesis “Optimising Graphite-Moderated Reactors Decommissioning and Waste Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach”, and will represent Italy at the ENS HSC PhD Award 2025.
Giovanni Zullo came third with his thesis entitled “Development and assessment of an open-source code for gaseous and volatile fission product behaviour in light water reactor fuel”.
This result confirms the quality of the research carried out in the Department and the expertise of its PhD students.
Congratulations to Riccardo and Giovanni for this recognition and thanks to the Italian Nuclear Association (AIN) and the Associazione Italiana Nucleare (AIN) for organising the event.
