Propulsion, optical diagnostic and combustion (PODC)

The Propulsion, Optical Diagnostics and Combustion (PODC) group focuses on the experimental investigation of thermofluid dynamics in energy and propulsion systems, using advanced optical techniques.

Research activities include the study of flames, sprays and combustion processes, as well as thermodynamic analysis of gas turbine cycles such as regenerative combustion, intercoolers and constant volume cycles. One line of research is dedicated to hybrid propulsion systems, where innovative solutions are explored to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
