Vehicle Air Conditioning Laboratory (HVAC x MOTION)

Develops and tests innovative technologies for cabin comfort and vehicle thermal management.

The HVAC x Motion laboratory has three different circuits for the experimental analysis of component and system performance in vehicle air conditioning and thermal management. The first circuit evaluates the energy consumption of various air conditioning technologies and cabin comfort. The second circuit analyses the performance of air conditioning components such as heating and cooling sections or thermal storage devices. The third circuit assesses components for air humidification and dehumidification, including operation at pressures above atmospheric levels.

Current research activities focus in particular on the study of air conditioning systems for electric vehicles, specifically through the use of adsorbent substances, and air humidification devices for fuel cell vehicles.
