Studies the migration of contaminants in soil, water and air and develops deterministic and stochastic transport models.
The activities of the Contaminant Migration and Nuclear Safety Laboratory include static and dynamic testing, the study of contaminant distribution and the development of transport models in porous media. The laboratory also deals with matrix leaching measurements.
Services offered:
- Experimental measurements and modelling of the processes governing contaminant migration in soil, water and air;
- Static and dynamic measurements (batch and column tests);
- Study of the distribution processes of contaminants in aqueous solution and solids;
- Matrix leaching measurements for the containment of fission products;
- Development of deterministic and stochastic models of contaminant transport in natural and artificial porous media
