Experimental tests on electric machines and drives
The Laboratory of Converters, Machines and Electrical Drives (CMAE) focuses on the experimental characterisation of electric machines and drives. The main objectives include analysing prototype performance, validating control techniques and comparing test results with analytical modelling and finite element method simulations.
Instrumentation
The lab is equipped with:
- Instrumented test benches for the characterisation of motors/generators:
High torque for direct coupling systems (5 kNm / 70 rpm)
Regenerative (2 Nm / 35,000 rpm)
Regenerative (15 Nm / 3,000 rpm)
50 Nm / 3,000 rpm. - Electronic converters (15 kW and 50 kW).
