Corporate Specializing Master in collaboration with Ansaldo Nucleare kicks off
A high-level educational program to train the energy professionals of the future in the nuclear sector
The Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano will manage the delivery of the new Corporate Specializing Master program in “Technologies for Nuclear Power Plants”, designed in partnership with Ansaldo Nucleare and in collaboration with CIRTEN (International Consortium for Nuclear Technology Research), National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) and DIME (Department of Mechanical, Energy, Management and Transport Engineering) of the Universiy of Genova.
This second-level Specializing Master program, set to begin in October 2025, aims at training experts in the field of nuclear energy—an area poised to play an increasingly central role in the energy transition. The one-year program includes 1.500 hours of training and is open to graduates in Engineering, Physics, and Chemistry.
The Department of Energy will contribute its expertise to train the young professionals selected for the program, who will receive permanent employment contracts with Ansaldo Nucleare from the very start of the course.
Scientific coordination is led by Professor Marco Ricotti from the Department of Energy, a collaborator with the IAEA and the European Commission on the topic of Small Modular Reactors.
Nuclear energy is once again at the center of the energy debate," he stated. " We need updated and forward-looking skills to meet the challenges of rapidly advancing technologies and a constantly shifting global context
