A new spin-off company has been set up at Politecnico di Milano that has its roots in the Department of Energy: it is ENIGMA (Nanoengineered Labels to Identify and Guarantee Authentic Goods), a system that guarantees the authenticity and tracking of a product, which is associated with a unique identification code with a high level of security, ease of use and low price. The code can be printed on the document/packaging or applied in the form of a label and verified with a highly reliable handheld reader.
ENIGMA has a long success story: it won the special grant from the Chamber of Commerce in the S2P competition, the grant in the Industrial category in the Start Cup Lombardia and the National Innovation Award.
