Hisashi Ninokata receives the 2024 Seaborg Medal from the American Nuclear Society

Hisashi Ninokata, former visiting professor at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano and currently a collaborator of the Department, has been awarded the prestigious Seaborg Medal 2024 by the American Nuclear Society (ANS). This award, one of the most important in the field of nuclear energy, is given for his outstanding scientific contribution in the field of computational thermohydraulics and for his fundamental role in the development and safety analysis of liquid metal reactors.

The award ceremony was held on 18 November 2024, during the opening session of the ANS Winter Conference, in Orlando, Florida.

The Department of Energy congratulates Hisashi Ninokata on this important achievement, which testifies to the international excellence of his research activities in the field of nuclear science.
