Kick-off of the European Skills4DHC project: the challenge for the future of district heating and cooling starts in Munich

On 30 September and 1 October 2024, the kick-off meeting of the European Skills4DHC project, hosted by WIP Renewable Energies, was held in Munich. The meeting brought together nine key partners from across Europe, who coordinated their efforts, discussed the project’s objectives and defined the first steps towards achieving concrete and impactful results.

Skills4DHC aims to close the skills gap in the district heating and cooling (DHC) sector by promoting training initiatives aimed at empowering the European workforce and providing advanced skills to support the energy transition.

The strategic role of Politecnico di Milano
Politecnico di Milano will lead academic training activities, developing innovative educational paths and promoting collaborations with other European universities. The aim is to prepare a new generation of qualified professionals in the field of district heating and decarbonisation.

Researchers from the Department of Energy and the Department of Architecture, Construction Engineering and the Built Environment (ABC) will be directly involved, bringing their contribution in terms of scientific and technological expertise.

Skills4DHC is coordinated by WIP – Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur Gmbh & Co Planungs Kg (Germany) and involves the following partners
