OPEN LECTURE: ‘PATENT BOX: from the Technical Office to tax savings’
On 17 May 2024, the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano will host an open lecture dedicated to the new facilitative regime of the Patent Box, an important incentive for the creation and economic exploitation of patents, software copyrights, registered designs and Utility Models, introduced by Law Decree 146/2021.
This lecture will be a significant opportunity for entrepreneurs, tax advisors and legal and business professionals to discover the secrets of one of the most innovative facilitative regimes introduced in recent years.
What's PATENT BOX?
Decree Law 146/2021 laid the foundations for a new way to incentivise the creation and economic exploitation of patents, software copyrights, registered designs and utility models. Known as the ‘new Patent Box’ or ‘Super Deduction of R&S (Research and Development) Costs’, this tax relief offers the possibility to increase R&S expenditure by 110%, allowing companies to benefit from significant tax savings.
The open lecture
The open lecture, held by the renowned expert Fabio Giambrocono – Industrial Property Consultant and EUIPO (European Union Trademark Office) Authorised Representative – will offer an in-depth analysis of the new Patent Box, with special focus on the interpretations provided by the Italian Revenue Agency. Furthermore, practical patenting strategies that could prove decisive for access to this advantageous tax regime will be provided.
The event will take place in person at the premises of the Department of Energy in Via Lambruschini 4, Building BL25, Milan, but will also be accessible online through the Microsoft Teams platform.
The Order of Industrial Property Consultants has accredited the event with n. 3 training credits in the field of Patents.
