Buildings’ environment and energy systems (BEES)

The Buildings’ Environment and Energy Systems (BEES) group focuses on improving energy efficiency and comfort in buildings by integrating building envelopes and service systems. Their research includes analysing indoor microclimates, developing technologies for tri-generation, using solar energy and applying techniques for cultural heritage conservation.

Their interdisciplinary approach combines modelling, simulation and experimentation to address energy sustainability challenges, with a special emphasis on acoustics and environmental quality. The group’s ultimate goal is to design buildings and systems that provide comfort and efficiency while minimising environmental impact.
