Toppi Tommaso
Tommaso Toppi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano. He obtained his Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from the same institution in 2005, followed by a PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science Technology in 2011.
His research focuses on heating and cooling systems for civil and industrial applications. He has been involved in developing and analysing thermally driven heat pumps and absorption refrigeration machines, as well as studying advanced cycles for vapour compression heat pumps. He has participated in more than 10 projects in this field, which were awarded through competitive tenders and funded by national and European institutions. He has also participated in over 15 industrial research projects, which led to the co-authorship of four patents.
He is responsible for research activities on heat pumps in the Relab laboratory, as well as activities concerning the characterisation of refrigerant mixture properties in the Miscelab laboratory. He also teaches the Building Physics course to Master’s degree students in Architectural Engineering.
