Micro and nanostructured materials (NanoLab)

The Micro and Nanostructured Materials  (NanoLab) group focuses on the synthesis and characterisation of micro and nanostructured materials, with a focus on the relationship between nanometric structure and functional properties such as electronic, optical and chemical behaviour. Research activities include vapour-phase deposition and the use of advanced microscopy and spectroscopy techniques to study innovative nanostructures.

Besides studying model nanostructures for fundamental research projects, it is of interest to develop novel materials (e.g. metals, metal oxides, semiconductors, carbon structures) and nanotechnologies, in view of innovative applications in many fields, particularly in the energy sector (photovoltaic, photo catalysis, nuclear fission and fusion, etc.).
