MRT Fuel Cell and Battery Lab (MRT FC&B)

The MRT Fuel Cell and Battery Lab focuses on the development of electrochemical technologies for energy conversion and storage, with projects focusing on fuel cells, flow batteries, lithium-ion batteries and electrolysers.

At the MRT Fuel Cell and Battery Lab, experimental and modelling analyses are conducted to:

  • Expand the understanding of physical phenomena governing performance and degradation.
  • Develop experimental techniques and innovative components.
  • Define operating strategies to increase performance and lifespan.

The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art measurement systems for characterising the performance and degradation of electrochemical devices, including advanced diagnostic techniques applied locally (CV, EIS, segmented cell) and in controlled environments (climatic chambers, glove boxes).
