The Electrical Engineering and Measurement (EEM) group conducts research ranging from the modelling of energy systems to the design of innovative technologies for monitoring and optimising complex systems. Key research areas include microgrid studies, modelling of components and interactions between renewable sources, converters and storage systems, as well as the development of forecasting techniques for renewable energy production.
Noteworthy projects include the use of UAVs for monitoring photovoltaic and wind power plants, energy harvesting solutions, wireless charging for devices like drones and electric vehicles, and advanced satellite communication systems. The group employs innovative analytical and numerical methods to improve the efficiency, sustainability and resilience of energy systems.
