Fluid machines (LFM)

The Machines Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (LFM) focuses on thermofluid dynamic modelling, experimental analysis and the optimisation of turbomachines for advanced energy applications. Research activities include the study of wind turbines – including those on floating foundations – and hydraulic machines for clean energy generation.

Particular attention is given to turbomachines operating with organic fluids, supercritical CO₂, refrigerants and other innovative fluids. The approach integrates numerical simulations and experimentation, with the goal of developing high-performance and low environmental impact technological solutions.
