Romei Alessandro

Alessandro Romei is a researcher at the Politecnico di Milano, where he obtained his doctoral degree in 2021. He was visiting researcher at the Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics in 2016 and at the Ecole Polytechnique in 2019. His primary research interests focus on the design and shape optimization of turbomachinery operating with non-ideal and/or multiphase compressible flows, including turbines for organic Rankine cycles (ORC) and compressors for supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) applications. Alessandro Romei is the author of approximately 25 papers presented at international conferences or published in peer-reviewed journals. His contribution at the ASME Turbo Expo 2019 received one of the ASME IGTI Best Paper Awards from the Supercritical CO2 Power Cycle Committee. He also received the ASME IGTI Student Advisory Committee Travel Award in 2020 and 2021. He actively participates in national (PRIN2022 ECO-SEARCHERS, PRIN2022-PNRR POWHER) and European projects (H2020 CO2OLHEAT, HEU SCO2OP-TES, MSCA-DN Training42Phase).

Education

Ph. D. in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology, Politecnico di Milano, 2021.
Master of Science in Energy Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, 2016.
