Catalysis and catalytic processes (LCCP)

The Catalysis and Catalytic Processes Laboratory (LCCP) specialises in heterogeneous catalysis, with multidisciplinary and multiscale approaches for the design and optimisation of innovative chemical processes. Activities include studying catalyst properties – from the nanoparticle scale to the reactor scale – using advanced characterisation and modelling techniques. The group develops powder and structured catalysts for applications such as energy conversion, sustainable fuel production and exhaust gas treatment.

Key research areas focus on hydrogen production, CO₂ reduction through methanation and dry reforming reactions, and emission control in industrial and automotive sectors. The combination of experimentation and CFD modelling addresses complex challenges such as process intensification and the design of low-carbon emission technologies.
