Donazzi Alessandro

Alessandro Donazzi, born in 1982, is Associate Professor at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano. He graduated with honors in Chemical Engineering, and received a PhD in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry also at Politecnico di Milano. In 2005, he joined the Laboratory of Catalysis and Catalytic Processes group, where he leads the activities dedicated to heterogeneous electrocatalysis, with specific focus on solid oxide cells. His research interests are in the area of hydrogen production and power generation. Alessandro has worked on solid oxide cells as a Fulbright-awarded research scholar at the Materials Science and Engineering department of Northwestern University in Evanston (US, 2021), on metal supported cells as a visiting scientist at the Institut für Technische Thermodynamik of DLR in Stuttgart (2012), and on heterogeneous catalysis at the CEMS department of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis (US, 2007-2008). He teaches the course of Fundamentals of Chemical Processes for Energy and Environment, and the course of Processes for Hydrogen and Energy Transition. He regularly follows experimental lab-works, and tutors PhD students and Masters students. He is the recipient of a Fulbright research scholarship award (2019), of the Fondazione Banco del Monte di Lombardia funding award (2020), and of a VIP paper award on Angewandte Chemie International Edition (2011). He is and has been the principal investigator of industrial research projects, and competitive projects (PRIN 2022).
