URBEM project presented in China
The URBEM project (Urban Reference Buildings for Energy Modelling) funded by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) as a Project of Outstanding National Interest (PRIN) was presented by Francesco Causone, its coordinator, and Martina Ferrando in September at the Buidling Simulation 2023 in Shanghai and at Tongji University.

With the participation of 10 Italian universities, URBEM aims to create a national database of reference buildings to be used with UBEM (Urban Building Energy Modelling) tools, tools capable of evaluating energy saving measures for large building stocks through dynamic simulations involving, at the same time, several buildings. This database will make it possible to reduce the uncertainty in the results of UBEM simulations, providing a reference tool and analysis methodology for public authorities (and other owners of building stock) that will be facilitated in their activities of building stock management and preservation and promotion of policies and incentives.
