Sonia Leva keynote speaker at ReCAR 2024

Sonia Leva, lecturer at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano and Deputy Director of the Department, recently participated as keynote speaker at the 7th International Conference on Recent Advances in Automotive Engineering & Mobility Research (ReCAR 2024), held on 24 and 25 September at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), in Putrajaya. Her talk, titled “MicroGrid and EV Charging Forecast to Minimize Impacts on the Grid”, addressed the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating microgrids and EV charging stations into existing energy systems.

During her stay in Malaysia, Prof. Leva and her team also presented the research activities of Politecnico di Milano’s SolarTechLAB and MG2Lab, consolidating the collaboration with the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering at UKM.

Subsequently, as part of the SOHO and MOST projects, Prof. Leva visited the Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies (CEMACS) at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), in Penang. Here she had the opportunity to meet local researchers and discuss future collaborations in the field of renewable energy and marine sustainability.

These meetings strengthen the Department of Energy’s collaborations with international research institutions and open up new development perspectives for ongoing projects.
