Faculty Members of the Department of Energy at the “Huawei FusionSolar Italy C&I Summit 2025”

Some faculty members from the Energy Department of Politecnico di Milano participated in the second edition of the Huawei FusionSolar Italy C&I Summit 2025, held on November 20–21 in Venice at the historic Palazzo del Casinò. The event brought together professionals and researchers involved in the development of technologies for commercial and industrial (C&I) photovoltaics, with a particular focus on integrated PV (photovoltaic) + BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) systems, digitalization, and advanced energy management solutions.

Academic Participation

The delegation included Prof. Sonia Leva, Prof. Emanuele Ogliari, and PhD student Riccardo Ramaschi, who took part in technical sessions and discussions with industry operators.

In his presentation, Prof. Ogliari showcased research activities carried out over the past three years regarding the safety of photovoltaic installations and BESS storage systems in the C&I sector. The report explored both technical aspects and economic competitiveness, integrating the analysis with several significant case studies related to electric vehicle charging and Energy Communities.

Ogliari also highlighted the main innovations of the new 2026 White Paper, “PV-Storage for C&I Applications: Safety, Savings, and Sustainability”, which proposes strategies and technologies for increasingly efficient, safe, and smartly managed integrated energy systems.

A Look at the Future of C&I Photovoltaics

The Summit provided an updated overview of the technological and operational prospects of commercial and industrial photovoltaics in Italy, highlighting the evolution of the PV + BESS model, the importance of digitalization, and the growing role of storage technologies in the energy transition.

The event, organized by Huawei Digital Power Italy, offered a valuable opportunity for technical discussion with leading operators in the Italian energy sector.
