The Department of Energy invites you to the seminar Communicating Like an Engineer: Effective Technical Writing in Practice presented by Prof. Debjani Sarkar from the College of Engineering at Michigan State University, USA.

In this interactive session, Debjani Sarkar will explore the key attributes of effective technical writing for engineers. She will offer practical recommendations on persuasive writing using a cover letter as a representative example, highlighting its role as a versatile and valued technical document.

Additionally, she will discuss the key elements of expository writing and demonstrate the structure and content organization of a technical or lab report.

Students are encouraged to actively engage with the presenter throughout the session. The final thirty minutes will be dedicated to addressing participants’ specific challenges and questions related to writing technical documents.
