Artificial Intelligence and Renewable Energy Systems: Prof. Ogliari’s Talk at the Sonepar Event on the Energy Transition

On March 3 in Rimini, during the event “Renewable Energy: Perspectives and Technological Innovation” organized by Sonepar Italia in preparation for Key Energy, Prof. Emanuele Ogliari delivered a talk titled “Artificial Intelligence and Renewable Energy Systems: Optimization and Sustainability.”

During the presentation, several research developments related to the application of Artificial Intelligence to energy systems were presented, including:

  • nowcasting algorithms for solar radiation aimed at very short-term forecasting of photovoltaic power generation;

  • machine learning techniques for the management and optimization of electrochemical energy storage systems (BESS);

  • analysis of the evolving trends of the electrical system, with particular attention to the integration of renewable energy sources and the growing impact of data centers on energy demand.

The meeting represented an opportunity for discussion with operators and industrial partners active in the renewable energy and energy digitalization sectors, focusing on topics related to power system flexibility and the integration of advanced forecasting tools.

At the end of the event, Prof. Ogliari was interviewed by Davide Bartesaghi, Editor-in-Chief of SolareB2B.
