Radiation detection and measurements (RDM)

The Radiation Detection and Measurements (RDM) group focuses on the physics and chemistry of radiation applied to nuclear engineering, developing innovative approaches and tools for characterising radiation fields across scientific, industrial and medical domains. With a strong experimental orientation, activities take place in Nuclear Measurements and Electronics Laboratories, Radioprotection, Radiochemistry and Radiation Chemistry, Contaminant Migration and Nuclear Safeguards.

Resources include a Calibration Laboratory (LAT) for X-ray and gamma radiation, a neutron irradiation facility (for both thermal and fast neutrons) and a radon chamber. The research aims to advance radiation measurement technologies and promote safe and effective applications.
