Mossini Eros 

Eros Mossini is a Researcher at Politecnico di Milano. He earned a B.Sc. in Physical Engineering in 2008, an M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering in 2011, and a Ph.D. in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology (cum laude) in 2016.

His research focuses on applied aspects of radiochemistry, radiation chemistry, and radiation protection, with particular emphasis on radioactive waste management. His work includes the development of methodologies for the characterization of difficult-to-measure radionuclides, novel materials for neutron shielding, innovative extraction systems for the recovery and recycling of minor actinides from spent nuclear fuel, and advanced patented technologies for the decontamination, treatment, and conditioning of radioactive waste. He also works on the management and valorization of waste generated by conventional industries, including Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) and Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (TENORM/RAE).

He has participated in numerous nationally and internationally funded research projects. He currently coordinates Work Package 5 (ICARUS) within EURAD-2, the European Union’s largest joint programme for research, development, and innovation in radioactive waste management. He collaborates with leading companies and internationally recognized research centers in the fields of nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management.
