Stefano Consonni, from the Department of Energy at the Politecnico di Milano, is the Respighian of the Year 2024.

Stefano Consonni, lecturer at the Department of Energy of Politecnico of Milan, has been awarded the title of Respighiano of the Year 2024. The ceremony, which took place on 24 May at the Liceo Respighi in Piacenza, was in recognition of his significant academic contribution and his commitment to establishing a branch of the Politecnico in Piacenza.
In this moment of great satisfaction, I would like to express my enthusiasm for this recognition, which allows me to reunite with my former classmates. My sincere thanks go to the Association for the recognition and consideration it has shown.

Stefano Consonni, a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano with a Master’s degree and a PhD from Princeton, has played a key role in promoting and developing the Piacenza branch of the Politecnico. Since 2005 he has been President of LEAP (Laboratorio Energia e Ambiente Piacenza), a research centre in the energy-environment sector, founded and run by the Politecnico di Milano.
Ippolito Negri, President of the Association Amici del Liceo Respighi, stressed the importance of this recognition, not only for Consonni’s illustrious career, but also for his commitment to keeping alive the links between the Liceo and its graduates. The ceremony coincided with the centenary of the Liceo Scientifico di Piacenza and the bicentenary of the birth of Lorenzo Respighi.
