ENIGMA, spin-off of Politecnico di Milano, selected for the Women TechEU 2024 programme
ENIGMA, the startup born as a spin-off from Politecnico di Milano, has reached another important milestone by being selected for the prestigious Women TechEU 2024 programme. This programme, funded under the EIE-2023-CONNECT-01 project and managed by EISMEA – European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency, aims to support deep-tech start-ups led by women and promote the growth of new technology leaders in Europe.
ENIGMA, which stands for Nanoengineered Labels to Identify and Guarantee Authentic Goods, is an innovative system that guarantees the authenticity and traceability of products by associating them with a unique identification code. This highly secure code can be easily incorporated into labels or printed directly onto packaging and documents. Verification is carried out using a highly reliable handheld reader, ensuring a solution that is not only secure, but also accessible and affordable.
Thanks to Women TechEU, ENIGMA will receive €75.000 in non-repayable funding, accompanied by a tailored six-month business development programme. This programme includes key services for the growth of the start-up, such as specialised mentoring, preparation for pitches to investors, training in soft skills and environmental impact analysis. ENIGMA will also have the opportunity to access a large network of investors and business partners, facilitating the international expansion of the project.
ENIGMA’s journey has been marked by numerous successes: from winning the special grant from the Chamber of Commerce in the S2P competition, to the grant in the industrial category of the Start Cup Lombardia, to participation in the National Innovation Award. This result testifies to the quality and potential of the Energy Department team made up of Carlo S. Casari, Anna Facibeni, Sonia Peggiani and Alessandro Vidale.
By participating in the Women TechEU programme, ENIGMA is preparing to further consolidate its position in the Deep Tech sector, contributing to market innovation and strengthening the role of Italian start-ups in the European technology landscape.
