Matteo Maestri TUM Ambassador

The award ceremony in Munich

Matteo Maestri, Professor of Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Energy, has been appointed “TUM Ambassador” by the Rector of the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award ceremony for TUM Ambassadors 2020, 2021 and 2022 took place last July at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich.

The TUM Ambassadors are internationally renowned scientists who were selected by the rector, Prof. Thomas Hofmann, from all international professors who have spent research periods at the University of Munich and collaborated significantly with colleagues at the TUM. With this award, TUM aims to honour its most distinguished international collaborators each year, who have distinguished themselves in their scientific careers and contributed to the culture of the institution through high-level research and international scientific exchange.

The citation for the award reads: “Matteo Maestri has succeeded in combining chemical-molecular and macroscopic-engineering research on catalysis in an extraordinary way and is a unique reference point for both communities”.
