Matteo Maestri named TUM Ambassador
The prestigious award from the University of Munich to our lecturer
Matteo Maestri, Full Professor of Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in the Department of Energy, has been appointed “TUM Ambassador” by the Rector of the Technische Universität München (TUM). The award will be presented in November 2021 to eight internationally renowned scientists, selected by the Rector, Prof. Thomas Hofmann, from among all international professors who have collaborated significantly with colleagues at TUM. With this award, the TUM wants to honour its most renowned international collaborators who have distinguished themselves in their scientific careers and have contributed to the culture of the institution through high-level research and international scientific exchange. Due to the pandemic, the award ceremony has been postponed until autumn 2022 in Munich.
I am very honoured to be awarded the honorary title of ‘TUM Ambassador’ by the Technical University of Munich,
said Professor Maestri.
My research stay at the TUM under the auspices of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation was a cornerstone of my subsequent academic career at Politecnico di Milano. The multicultural network of friends and colleagues that I have built up over the years in different parts of the world is one of the main assets of my profession.
