HySET Winter School 2026

From 23 to 26 February, the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, hosted the Winter School 2026 of  the  Master of Science Erasmus Mundus  HySET – Hydrogen Systems and Enabling Technologies: students, faculty, and partners gathered for an experience that blended innovation, meaningful industry interaction, and community building.

The Winter School marked an important milestone for the third cohort of 14 students, coming from all over the world (Canada, Ecuador, England, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, United States of America) – as they advanced in their academic path with the second module of the Innovation workshop on Creative Thinking, led by Gianluca Gariani of Collége des Ingènieurs.

During the event the students had the opportunity to present the work developed so far on the challenges proposed by our industrial partners along with the academic and industrial tutor. Enhancing the experience,  students from the second cohort took part in the event as mentors, supporting their peers during this crucial stage of the challenge. Their contribution offered valuable guidance and support, while also reinforcing continuity and fostering a strong sense of community within the program.

In addition to the academic sessions, participants had the chance to engage in informal interactions: a specially designed team-building activity offered relaxed and enjoyable way to connect and strengthen the sense of community.

Representing the partner universities of the project, the following attended the event in person: Massimo Santarelli (Master Coordinator at Politecnico di Torino), Gianluca Valenti for Politecnico di Milano, and Attila Husnar for Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

Winter School 2026 was an inspiring and engaging experience, combining learning, collaboration, and community. The event not only allowed students to advance their knowledge and skills but also strengthened connections between cohorts, faculty, and industry partners, further shaping the spirit of the HySET Master.
