Large attendance at the conference on ‘Propulsion Simulations Using OpenFOAM Technology’.

On 11 and 12 March 2024, a conference on ‘Propulsion Simulations Using OpenFOAM Technology’ was held, which was very well attended and enthusiastic. The conference was organised by the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany.

Under the direction of Prof. Tommaso Lucchini, the event was aimed at researchers and engineers interested in the use of OpenFOAM technology (Open Field Operation And Manipulation) for the simulation of propulsion systems: internal combustion engines, fuel cells, and battery electric engines.

Speakers came from both the academic and corporate worlds.

The event was well attended with over 70 attendees from all over Europe.

The conference provided an important opportunity to update on the state of the art in fluid dynamics applied simulation technology research, receiving extremely positive feedback from participants.
