The Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano is actively involved in the European research project GAMMA (Green Ammonia and BioMethanol fuel MAritime vessels), funded with 13 million euro from the European Commission’s Horizon Europe innovation framework programme out of a total of 17 million.
In the past few weeks, researchers from the SESAM group of the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano held a course in Rio de Janeiro – at the invitation of Climate Compatible Growth (a UK-funded project that aims to finance sustainable energy and transport projects to meet development priorities in the South of the world), Universidade Federal Fluminense and Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora – aimed at energy professionals, economists and civil engineers, focusing on energy modelling tools.
The Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano is also taking the field to support the spread of renewable fuels of biological and non-biological origin to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in industrial processes where the possibility of electrification remains limited, such as marine transport and the steel industry.
The Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano is proud to announce the involvement of Professor Giacomo Persico and his team in the Horizon Europe SCO2OP-TES project.
The current need to reduce pollutant emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change requires innovative approaches to power generation. Significant amounts of heat are lost to the environment from energy-intensive industrial processes such as glass, cement, metals, paper and food.
A project fot the training of 12 PhD students in the field os two-phase flow in turbomachinery Politecnico di Milano is participating in the Training42Phase project, an ambitious initiative funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), which aims to train a new generation of scientists specialised in two-phase flows in turbomachinery for the energy transition.…
