On December 2^nd 2022, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi visited the L54 nuclear research reactor at Politecnico di Milano. 

Politecnico di Milano was the first university to offer a degree program in Nuclear Engineering, started experimentally as early as the 1950s and opened definitively since 1960. Under license from 1960 to 1980, Politecnico also operated the L54 nuclear research reactor, in the historic “CESNEF – Enrico Fermi Nuclear Studies Center” building. 
Director General was greeted by the elected Rector Donatella Sciuto and by professors of the Study Programme in Nuclear Engineering.
